Diamond, Emerald, and Sapphire

“Diamond” is an document editor I built as a tool for my own creative projects; it isn’t for everybody (it may not be for anybody) but the people who’ve seen it and used it have responded well enough that I’ve released it into the wild for your document composing pleasure. “Sapphire” is a lightweight document-based project management system which is being readied for release; “Emerald” is a document processing engine currently under development. On this page you can find the latest news about Diamond and its sister-applications; you can also subscribe to the RSS feed for this page under the “Subscribe” link to the left. You can download Diamond on the downloads page. You can access User discussions on the User Forum page, or leave a brief comment below. The Gallery displays a host of information about Diamond, how it works, and how it can be used.

Diamond & Sapphire News

I’ve was pulled away from Diamond development for awhile due to an extra-heavy project at The Day JobTM — but I’ve slotted time later this week to pick up the slack.

Some new images/tutorials will be coming in The Gallery.

The first beta release of Sapphire should be finished by Sunday! I’ll be emailing it to those who expressed a particular interest and if it doesn’t maim or cause birth defects in houseplants I’ll be posting it soon.

The next iteration of Diamond (probably in about three weeks tops) will have built in Help and (hopefully) be localized for non-English users.

Thanks again for your feedback; it’s what makes Diamond what it is (whatever that is).

How can we sign up or otherwise express interest in Emerald and/or Sapphire? Emerald sounds particularly exciting, especially if it will have scanner support built in (I have an Epson Perfection 4990 firewire scanner...)

Thanks,

-Tod

Follow the RSS feed for Development news and you'll get the latest news here. I'm also emailing you so when you respond (if you wish) I'll put your address in a list to receive beta releases directly. Sapphire is on it's way soon...
